Project Description:
Building a subwoofer/Tv stand

Design Goals:
To utilize 100% of the available space as efficiently as possible using the largest subwoofers I could find at an affordable level

Driver Selection:
Um18-22 dual 2ohm voicecoil 18″

Enclosure Design:
Sealed enclosure. 7.2cu ft per enclosure x4

Enclosure Assembly:
MDF 3/4″. & 3/4″ plywood

Crossover Design:
Used an amplifier with built in crossover. 70hz lowpass

Conclusion:
SOUNDS AMAZING!!!!!

About the Designer:
I have always been a bass head at heart and always loved the sound of an 18″ sub in a vehicle. I used to install car audio for about 10 years in my past. I was trying to bring that sound into my living room and have surpassed that goal!!!!

    Thank You Parts Express for your excellent products, customer service representatives, and technicians for all that you do!!!

    This project was fun and expensive but I wouldn’t change anything if I had to do it all over again. What isn’t mentioned above, is that I am using a Crown XLS-2500 powering up the beast. I also used a Soundstream Epicenter to boost the pre-amp signal to about 7V to maximize the Crowns potential. I have roughly $2200 invested and love every bit of it. It brings Call of Duty on the X-BOX too life. “just ask any of my neighbors”!!!!!

    Customers ask me questions but I’m unable to use the link to answer them. So my advice to the last question is you can never have to much amplification. I compare it to an automobile. If your going to drive 80mph. I would want a car that can go 160 and do 80 with ease, than to buy a car that can only go 85. Sure it can go 80 but it is probably straining and going to blow…..
