Project Description:
Trying to improve my home audio experience and a good bounding experience with a oldest Grandson!
Design Goals:
Supplement my home audio and add more bass to our movie experience.
Driver Selection:
One Epique E180HE-44 7″ DVC MMAG Extended Range Subwoofer 4 Ohm per Coil wired in series for 8 ohms load.
Two Epique E180HE-PR 7″ Carbon Fiber Cone Passive Radiator
Enclosure Design:
13.5″X13.5″X17.5″
Crossover Design:
Active crossover built into unit
Tips & Tricks:
When using un-backed veneer, superglue is your friend to prevent tear out when trimming your edges!
Conclusion:
I have no means to measure the over all response, but the output from such a small speaker is pretty impressive to me.
About the Designer:
Have a small wood shop full of tools that exceed my capability, I’ve always enjoyed car and home audio and have built multiple subwoofer and a few 2 ways speakers. I’m a retired Firefighter/Paramedic from Western Kentucky.

That is a cool build! It’s looks like something I may want to try. I’ve dabbled in the speaker building a little bit but have been out of it for a few years. Thank you for your service as a firefighter, I have the most respect for what you do. I am an auto worker in the Louisville Kentucky area.
