Project Description:

The project started with a Parts Express studio monitor kit. This kit allowed me to build a custom pair of monitors at a reasonable price. Next, I needed a way to switch from the monitors to headphones without having to swap cables on my interface. I was able to build a custom switch box out of stainless steel and hardboard that would switch between RCA and aux outputs.

Design Goals:

The goal of this project was to build a set of neutral sounding studio monitors that could accurately playback music and instrument recordings, all at a reasonable price. I can also take control of each channel when listening to music, isolating either the left or right side of the monitors or my headphones.
