Portable bluetooth guitar/karaoke amp with multiple inputs

Design Goals:

To build a portable battery powered guitar amp with inputs for guitar and bluetooth or other auxiliary device.

Driver Selection:

Dayton Audio SIG225-4 8″ Signature Series Woofer
JBL Selenium ST200 Super Tweeter

Enclosure Design:

16in x 16in x 12in ported enclosure. Plywood construction.

Crossover Design:

Dayton Audio XO2W-3K 2-Way Speaker Crossover 3,000 Hz

Tips & Tricks:

I think this amp board has enough power to handle a larger speaker setup, so I think it would be fun to experiment with other speakers.

Conclusion:

Cabinet construction was pretty straightforward -just a plywood box large enough to house the various components. The JBL supertweeter matches up very well with the Dayton woofer, however you will need an l-pad to cut the highs down a little. I play guitar along with backing tracks, so I like that you can pair this with a bluetooth signal (or use the auxiliary input) and jam with the backing tracks. The amp board has plenty of controls to mix the sound. The sound quality is amazing and it’s plenty loud for what I need. Please note that this speaker setup is full range, so if you’re playing electric guitar you’ll probably want to use a processor of some kind. The unit is rechargeable, and the battery seems to last a very long time between recharges.
