Designer:
NTol
Project Category:
Tower Speakers
Project Level:
Beginner
Project Time:
8-20 Hours
Project Cost:
$100 – $500
Project Description:
2-way small towers for our living room. Adding a .1 subwoofer eventually.
Design Goals:
Make them small enough to not overload the living room space.
Driver Selection:
294-5938 – B&C 4NDF34-8 4″ Professional Neodymium Woofer 8 Ohm
272-200 – GRS RT1.0-8 Hi-Res Neo Ribbon Tweeter 8 Ohm
Enclosure Design:
2-Way with Slot Port
Enclosure Assembly:
3/4″ Pine
Crossover Design:
2-Way 2nd Order 2500mhz
Conclusion:
They look very nice, sound is OK. Rear porting a speaker I planned to place close to the wall was maybe not the best idea. The downward firing port is also a bit too wide for the driver, didn’t realize I had over cut those 2 pcs until they were glued in.
