Bookshelf Speakers
Project Level:
Beginner
Project Time:
8-20 Hours
Project Cost:

Project Description:
I needed a set of near field monitors for video editing and music production. I’ve always been a fan of Paul Carmody’s designs so when I saw he had a studio monitor I knew I would eventually build a set.
Design Goals:
I wanted to start incorporating some woodworking beyond just gluing and painting a flat pack. For these I used solid bubinga on the trim pieces of the front baffle to match the veneered sides.

Conclusion:
I’m really happy with the way these turned out. I meant for them to be for critical listening, but they sound surprisingly musical. They are very precise.
