Project Description:

Open baffle panel stereo speakers and subwoofer, powered with integrated 2.1 TBA3116D2 based amplifier. Total project cost: $125.

Design Goals:

Fun with recycling – Wood panels are from my artist wife’s discarded painting easels 🙂

Driver Selection:

(1) 8″ poly woofer, (4) 8″ full range coaxial drivers

Crossover Design:

None – Twin full range 8 ohm drivers for each speaker are wired in parallel for a net 4 ohm load per channel. Woofer connected to 2.1 amplifier’s dedicated low freq output.

Tips & Tricks:

N/A

Conclusion:

Successful OBP build – Sound stage is huge & detailed along with a full, dynamic bass response – Great sonics at any volume level.
