Modern Bluetooth speaker with modern sound quality and a classic MCM aesthetic.

Design Goals:

Elegant design aesthetic that would look good on the credenza in some rich guy’s breakfast nook and the sound quality of a modern speaker.

Enclosure Design:

Is a enclosure with a passive radiator sealed acoustic suspension?

Enclosure Assembly:

12 x 12 x 24 3/4 in Birch Plywood internally braced completely sealed.

C-Note crossover

Conclusion:

I’ve made three of these so far. Each one gets a little better. I’m almost there. I’ve almost convinced myself of what I already know: This is probably as good as it’ll get without spending more money on quality drivers…

Tips & Tricks:

Get the highest voltage/amperage power supply you can find.
I mount the passive radiator upside down and add weight until it sounds how I want (I’m not even sure how much weight is on it).
