the house that lepai built…

Designer: more channels the better

Project Time: 1-8 hours
Project Complexity: Hobbyist
Project Cost: $100-$500

Concept
when i saw the lepai T-class I knew that was exactly what I wanted… the ability to do a micro 3 way active setup… this isn’t the final version… I to use much better cabinets, and better drivers… but right now: 2 rolls mini active cross overs… one feeding the other… nothing tuned yet… just what sounded good to the ear… only built it yesterday… 3 lepai’s running “direct” no tone control clearance 1/2′ dome tweeters, clearance 2″ cone tweeters as mids, 3 1/2″ tang band titanium driver with matching passive radiator… all in cheap hobby store basswood boxes… I want to do mdf or hardwood cabinets… also I have a load of other mini speakers on order… I want to build a set of micro, multi driver, multi-amp, pa systems, like if the smurfs were in a rock band… yeah I been indoors too long…

About The Designer
about 9 months ago i became bedridden with an onslaught of 5 back to back surgeries the last 4 due to a broken leg… then learning to walk and pain meds… lots of “home time”… this ordeal left me immobile a lot… and out came the old head phones… decent over the ear pair that made the laptop sound like not good… I decided to get a cheap headphone amp… it rocked…then got hit by lightning… then the audio bug bit… I was bit by the audio bug when I was a teen… and budget, knowledge, ego, ability, and creativity have all increased… (some more than others)… I decided recreated a teenage dream of a 3way active crossover setup… built that.. then played with other dreams… yeah that is another lepai running tactile transducers through two violins
